Chair – The Honourable Sally Thomas AM
Chair – The Honourable Sally Thomas AM.
Sally arrived in Darwin in 1978 and was appointed a Stipendiary Magistrate of the Northern Territory. In 1986, she was appointed Chief Magistrate of the Northern Territory. She was appointed a Justice of the Supreme Court in 1992 and retired in 2010. Sally was the Deputy Chancellor of Charles Darwin University for 6 years prior to being elected as Chancellor. She was also Deputy National Chairman – Fellowship of the Winston Churchill Memorial Trust until retirement from this position in 2009. Sally is also President of the Government House Foundation. Sally Thomas was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia for service to the community, particularly through the Northern Territory Winston Churchill Memorial Fellowship Committee, to tertiary education, and to the law.
Ms Lesley Faehse- Public Officer
Lesley is a Chartered Accountant who has specialised in financial planning for the past 15 years. She has a Graduate Diploma in Accounting, is a Certified Financial Planner with the FPA and a member of SPAA.
Lesley’s main area of expertise is Self Managed Superannuation, but she is also experienced in retirement planning as well as long term planning for tax efficiency and financial security.

Board Member Ken Conway AM
Mr Ken Conway AM
Ken Conway came to Darwin in 1969 and in 1972 took a short break from being a lawyer to help establish Brown’s Mart, an historic building, as a community performance space.
Since then he has been Executive Officer of Brown’s Mart Community Arts, established and toured the Territory with a Theatre in Education Company, presented activities and performances in remote communities with Kids Convoy and continued to work as an actor and director – mostly with Darwin Theatre Company – in both professional and volunteer capacity when his work with Brown’s Mart permitted
He is a Churchill fellow and recipient of the Ros Bower Award, a national annual award in recognition of sustained commitment to community arts. He has assisted in establishing a number of local arts organisations and projects, and Brown’s Mart has hosted programs which led to the development of organisations such as the Northern Territory’s Writer’s Centre, Corrugated Iron Youth Arts, The Multicultural Arts Office, Darwin Fringe Festival and Tracks.

In 2010 Ken was appointed the Member of the Order of Australia for service to the performing arts in the Northern Territory, as an administrator and as a promoter and supporter of community-based programs.
Ms Jackie Halsey
Jackie has a great deal of experience of working with community organisations through her long career with government across human resource management, public relations and marketing, project management, and arts development. She has more than ten’years’ experience in arts administration and development and represented the Northern Territory as a Director on the Board of Regional Arts Australia. Jackie has a Bachelor of Arts (Journalism) and a post graduate qualification in public sector management.
Ms Anna Reece
Anna Reece, Operations Manager of Darwin Festival. Experienced in all aspects of festival, venue and theatre management across production, operations and logistics; and production and tour management of theatre and multi-artform events. She has previously worked for a wide range of festivals, theatres and production houses including Sydney Festival, Edinburgh Festival Fringe, ArtbackNT, Malthouse Theatre, Sydney Film Festival, Performing Lines, WOMADelaideand Belvoir Street Theatre.
