Daniel Kitson, a favourite of Liverpool audiences as well as the Edinburgh Comedy Festival, comes to Brown’s Mart with his latest storytelling show The Interminable Suicide of Gregory Church, the story of a death postponed by life.

In The Interminable Suicide of Gregory Church, Kitson presents the story show which won him the fourth Edinburgh Festival Fringe First Award of his career in 2009. A fictional anecdote, the show is a funny, poignant and optimistic meditation on modern life.

Creative Development of “Handle With Care”

Devisor and Performer Lynette Lewis has taken up residence in the Brown’s Mart Rehearsal Room with Director Ben Graetz and Dramaturge Francesca Smith for the first stage of creating a new theatre work based on Lynette’s life story.

A proud Wambaya/Warrumungu woman, Lynette trained as a dancer and actor at the Aboriginal Dance Theatre and National Institute of Dramatic Art and was a dancer in the second touring production of Bran Nue Dae.

Lynette then swapped the footlights of the theatre for the Barkley tablelands of Tennant Creek to relearn language, law and responsibility.

Handle With Care is shaping up to be a frank and heartfelt solo work that will amalgamate the family tradition of the country with the flash style of dance and drama from the city.
