The Essington International Senior College, Stage 2 Drama students present One More Hour by Mary Anne Butler.

Our world in the not too distant future…..dust storms, quakes, flying rickshaws, whirlpools, levitating Englebert Humperdinck records, sink holes…

Fate lives with anxiety ridden Todd, a surface dweller. They encounter Dubs a pod (underground) escapee. Chance guards pod dwellers existing in totalitarian terror. Hope remembers the time when she wasn’t a sky dweller, a time of bacon and real bones.

Mary Anne Butler’s latest prize winning play takes us into three dystopian venues which feature three very different dogs, Fate, Chance and Hope.

Director, Marita Smith said, “It has been a great privilege to produce this new, topical work by local, prize winning playwright, Mary Anne Butler. I have found it very rewarding to work with such a talented and dedicated cast. Their individual efforts and their team work on the journey from page to stage has made this a truly memorable and rewarding experience.”

The cast felt it a great honour to perform One More Hour, “a work which covers all the issues we are concerned with”. They hope that you will find this challenging work thought provoking and theatrically satisfying…..they don’t expect you to “enjoy” it!

The play runs Monday 2, Tuesday 3, Wednesday 4 September. 7pm Happy Yess room, Brown’s Mart. Tickets have almost sold out. Call The Senior College to make a booking – 8946 6821 or email
