Brown’s Mart Launch 2021 Season Program!

Brown’s Mart launched a full 2021 program of performance on Wednesday 24 February at their vibrant, intimate venue proudly located on Larrakia land in the heart of Darwin’s CBD.

While the organisation was remarkably the first in Australia to reopen following COVID closures in March, their 2020 program was deeply impacted. After a year of global shake-ups, the team are thrilled to be able to roll out a strong 2021 offering which continues to break new ground.

“I’m really proud that Brown’s Mart is bringing the Darwin community another diverse, provocative and heartfelt program that blends audience favourites with some new partnerships and adventures.”

SEAN PARDY- BROWN’S MART THEATRE ARTISTIC DIRECTOR

Wednesday’s program launch also provided the opportunity for Brown’s Mart to introduce their new CEO, Sophia Hall, who has recently made the move from Queensland Theatre to take the reins of this much-loved NT organisation.

Hall is delighted to be finally on the ground and is already excited by the conversations underway. She said: “I’m struck by the generosity, innovation and energy that is key to the role Brown’s Mart plays in Darwin’s creative community and am thrilled to be contributing my leadership to the next part of this journey.”

Together Hall and Pardy will create space for experiences which are engaging, thought-provoking and deeply rooted in the organisation’s diverse community

The full program is available online now, or in print from Brown’s Mart Theatre, 12 Smith Street, Darwin City. Tickets are already on sale and moving quickly for their first production of the year, Highway of Lost Hearts by award-winning Territory writer Mary Anne Butler, which runs from Friday 12 March.
